Dementia is becoming a major social problem in Japan that has an aging population. There has been no decisive treatment. However, we are seeing a bright future. The dual task has turned out to improve the mild dementia in the study. Let's introduce the easy dual task.
※ The dual task is to do two different things at a time, referring to "while operation". (Double theme)
You are voiced "right" or "left" while stepping, raise the opposite hand.
By counting the number, clap the hands when the number is multiples of 3 and 3 in one digit.
Assuming that the right hand always wins, do rock-paper-scissors with the right hand and left hand.
Caution to mild dementia
A state of the gray zone between healthy subjects and dementia is referred to as mild dementia (MCI). If mild dementia leaves without treating, about half of the people are said to be a real dementia after five years. As about a quarter of over 65 year old people have become dementia from mild dementia, early detection and early treatment is required when you are diagnosed with mild dementia.
Dual task is "while operation"
A simple exercise has been attracting attention as there is an improving effect of mild dementia. It is the dual task. "Dual" means two-person or double, and "task" means work. Dual task is to carry out the two operations at the same time. It is also called "while operation".
Eating potato chips while watching TV is also a dual task (while operation). But, unfortunately no effect on the mild dementia. The improving effect has been observed in a simple exercise such as walking and stamping. (refer a specific sample to the illustration)
Dual task to increase the blood flow in the brain
When you examine the brain of patients with dementia, lowering the blood flow and a lack of blood flow rate in the brain have been confirmed.
As a result, the brain function was also found to decrease. As you will do two operations at the same time in the dual task, it stimulates the frontal lobe that works for motor function and thought function, resulting in the increase of blood flow rate in the brain. Activating the frontal lobe that is headquarters of the brain is believed to improve mild dementia.
Of course, to increase the blood flow in the brain, it will also be important to warm the whole body, to promote blood flow throughout the body, and to keep the healthy blood.
